Designing Trust Into a Service Business

Case Study

Harbor & Host Staffing is a concept website for a hospitality and event staffing company serving private parties, weddings, and corporate events. The project explores how a straightforward service business can use its website to communicate more clearly, build trust quickly, and make the next step obvious.

The homepage is built around a simple customer promise: event staff that make hosting feel effortless. Rather than leading with a list of services, the experience first establishes the value of the business, then organizes the offering into three clear categories: waitstaff, bartenders, and kitchen support.

The visual direction combines warm hospitality photography, editorial typography, soft neutral backgrounds, and restrained accent colors to create a premium but approachable identity. Clear hierarchy and generous spacing keep the experience easy to scan while allowing the imagery and messaging to carry the brand.

The structure was also designed around the questions a prospective customer is likely to have: What kind of staff can I hire? How does the process work? Can the service accommodate my event? What should I do next? Service cards, a simple booking flow, event-detail examples, and consistent calls-to-action move visitors through those questions toward an inquiry.

Rather than adding complexity for its own sake, the concept focuses on the elements that matter most for a service business: clear positioning, credibility, ease of use, and a direct path to conversion.
